Robert is the Founder and CEO of Bonsai. Prior to founding Bonsai, he was President and Chief Strategist for the Allianz Exchange, a division of Allianz Life Insurance Company of North America (Allianz Life®). In this role, he was responsible for uniting strategic relationships, technology, and intellectual capital to identify opportunities to deliver better retirement solutions and thought leadership
Prior to this, he was President and CEO of Allianz Life Financial Services, LLC and held senior executive roles with Travelers Life and Annuities, Jackson National Life Distributors Inc. and Goldman Sachs.
Robert also served as the Chairman of the Insured Retirement Institute (IRI), and was Vice-Chair of the Invest in Others Charitable Foundation.
He currently serves as the Vice-Chair of the Minnesota Coalition for The Homeless.
Robert is a frequent speaker on webinars and at industry events specifically relating to the topic of Retirement Income and The future of advice
He earned a BS in Finance from the University of Colorado, Boulder and holds an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management
Robert lives in Boulder and enjoys cooking, fly fishing and traveling with friends and family.
